General Description
ISED Solutions is seeking an Intern for this coming January 2012 through May 2012 to support the SBA PRIME and Financial Literacy programs. The Intern is expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week in the office and will receive a modest stipend for their time and effort.

ISED Solutions is seeking an undergraduate intern for this coming January 2012 through May 2012 to assist the Economic Development staff in Asset Building /Microfinance Program. The Intern is expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week or as agreed with the Program Officer and will receive a modest stipend for their time and effort.

ISED Solutions is seeking Interns for an undetermined period of time. Successful candidates will be competitive, have strong written, verbal, computer and analytical skills along with knowledge of current refugee, immigrant, asylee, economic, international development and policy issues. Candidates will demonstrate a proven track record of success in internet search engine use, understanding of proposal development, editing experience and good project planning and calendaring management concepts. The position will be located in ISED’s Washington, DC headquarters.
This is an unpaid position with a transportation stipend of $200 per month and requires a minimum of 10 hours per week in the office. The Intern schedule will be set at engagement on a regular basis with changes made with at least 48 hours notice. Stipend increase is a possibility.
Various duties may include:
Proposal Development
1. Design a search plan for funding opportunities
2. Identify appropriate opportunities which are matches for ISED’s portfolio warranting a proposal team formation—at least two per month.
3. Assist in forming the team, calendaring the project and setting electronic and hard copy files
4. Set a tickler system for parts of the proposal, monitor and remind the team of the jointly developed proposal calendar
5. Assist in final production and submittal of the proposal
Webinar Production
1. Research various webinar platforms
2. Create comparative grid for platforms with ISED virtual hardware and internet capacity, and cost
3. Hold 2 webinar test events with ISED staff/consultants
District of Columbia Public Meeting Representation
1. With President’s concurrence attend various scheduled public events held in Washington DC pertaining to refugee resettlement, international development, immigrants, asylees and more, such as:
a. Migration Policy Institute
b. USAID Breakfast Seminars held by QED Group
c. USAID public meetings
d. State Department public meetings
e. Think tank and book release events
f. Embassy events
….and more
2. Summarize and publish “blogs” on the ISED Website reflecting meetings.
