2011 ORR Refugee Micro enterprise Conference

Refugee Micro enterprise Conference, which was held on August 4, 2011, in Washington DC, was a well attended event with close to 50 registered, representing 18 programs. The Conference was opened by Ken Tota (below), Deputy Director, who knows the refugee microenterprise (RMED) very well, and is familiar with the challenges and opportunities refugees face in building their businesses.

2011 ORR IDA Conference

2011 IDA Conference was a special event for many reasons: for the first time, the conference was organized within the ORR Consultations, and allowed the IDA grantees to see the broader of picture of ORR's work in refugee resettlement. Eskinder Negash, ORR Director, opened the conference and greeted grantees, partners and presenters. Throughout his speech, and in answering grantees' questions, he outlined the current and future directions in ORR's funding.
